CREW MANAGEMENT

Currently, most of the crew members on ocean-going vessels owned by Japanese marine shipping companies are foreign nationals, such as Filipinos, and the competition to acquire such crew members is heating up around the world.
It is definitely not an easy task to train people from different cultures and with different languages to actively participate as excellent crew members.
In order to dispatch crew members, it is necessary not only to have knowledge of the work, but also to know in detail about the cultures, customs, and characteristics of each country. We then need to communicate closely with the crew members, create an appropriate environment on board, and care for their families in their home countries, so that each crew member can perform well on the ship to which he or she has been dispatched.

Training and dispatch of skilled crew members based on experience cultivated over many years

With an industry track record of more than 40 years, by having a deep understanding of the duties and characteristics of such crew members, proactively communicating with them, and our expatriate staff working together with local crew member dispatch agencies, the Toei Group understands the situation of each individual crew member working on the world’s oceans, far from his or her family, and provides intensive support.
We also do business with several crew dispatch agencies, mainly in Southeast Asia, and hold regular crew rotation meetings via online with the people in charge at each agency to secure young and competent crew members and promote crew training plans.

Support the safe operation and management of vessels according to each country’s conditions

These efforts enable us to efficiently manning crews in the Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, and other countries depending on situations of those countries. In this way, Toei supports the safe operation and management of vessels.
